Next week, we're headed to VMworld 2017 in Las Vegas. This is our 5th time attending the show, and we're looking forward to a great time.
In case you've never been to VMworld, we thought we'd give you some advice on how to make the most of the week:
Dan Perkins, Director of Product Management says:
"Set a rough goal for what you are looking to get out of the sessions. If you don’t, you can easily be overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff happening at any given time."
Jonathan Klick, Senior Sales Engineer, advises:
"Leave extra room in your luggage. You may end up collecting a lot of awesome swag and prizes. And don’t forget to bring back stuff for the ones your kids - and your coworkers!"
Neel Shah, Director of Sales Strategy, tells us:
"I’d say go in with a plan… Get the maps and apps ahead of time and use the first night to scout out the halls and places where all the sessions are going to be.
Then go through your schedule and circle everything you’d like to do. It’ll be crowded and things are far, so plan ahead."
Mark McNamara, VP of Sales, says:
"Make sure to spend enough time in the Exhibit Hall - and not just for the giveaways. The VMware ecosystem is filled with innovative solutions that continually challenge the status quo, and they are on full display at VMworld. You will likely be surprised at how much you can learn."
And my advice is:
Wear comfortable shoes, stay hydrated, and talk to everybody! You never know who you'll meet or how your paths will intersect in the future.
